Yee Si & Louis

A personal one for us. We celebrated one of our own.

Yee Si tied the knot with her love of 13 years, Louis, in a close ceremony at @enderong_resort. We pour heart and soul into all our weddings, but this was different. This was closer to heart. For the first time, we got to take seats amongst a ceremonial space that we created with her, for her ... and be guests at a wedding of two lives that we've gotten to be a part of over the years. And of course, as head designer herself, our boss bride had all the say in the process and pretty much styled her own wedding! Scroll down for more sharings from Yee Si herself.

"We had an intimate celebration with only our closest, so Louis and I wanted to create this beautiful keepsake that our loved ones would also cherish. Lesser people meant that we could play it up! We decided to layer our wedding invite with a thank you letter, program card, and location map to @enderong_resort. Each card took its own shape that fitted perfectly when they were put together, like pieces of a puzzle.”

“We had the best time working with @slumberbugs on the barebones - material and printing. We wanted a double-sided letterpress print for both English and Mandarin, and they meticulously perfected their paper thickness to allow for that beautiful outcome. Every page made from recycled paper, by hand. Including our vow books which were beautifully textured, dyed green, and tied with a rope instead of ribbon for a finer aesthetic.”

“We had our guest names handwritten in calligraphy by the talented @peanutbunnyjellyfish. Our ring box personalized by @lovelours with our monogram and theme colour. And these stunning frames by @nicholas_nyy that captured ALL those wonderful details. We couldn't have done it without these amazingly dedicated craftsmen!"

Knitting needles in her floral wreath.

"Louis knitted a scarf for me using those bamboo needles many years ago and I just kept them. And one day I was brainstorming on florals and how I wanted this flowy cascading hoop bouquet and it just randomly popped into my head, so I was like: let me see if I can put them in!"

Delicate white tulips paired with fine strokes of greens, helleborus and caladium leaves - fresh out of a potted plant. Yee Si described her hoop bouquet as airy, flowy, organic and slightly untamed - evocative of the laidback carefree vibes of her wedding luncheon.

We went with a sheer fabric base + linen canvas chart runner. Artfully draped along the verandah catching breeze and daylight. Alluring textural blooms in warm hues added a further sense of intricacy and poetic detail.

Lush wilderness spilling over the side of an all-white counter. A bar moment that’s organic and bold.

Terranium Signage

Fresh moss and seedlings enclosed in a custom-lettered acrylic casing, paired with a dreamy composition of wispy tree ferns, malaleuca gold leaves, and red hot pokers. A poetic imagery of growth and new beginnings in their 13-year journey together - 'the wait is finally over'.

Flowerless living art.

Layers and layers of dense foliage, delicate fillers, and lush lush greenery cascading off this exuberant floral pillar. A free-form sculptural piece styled as the anchor to their ceremony. Yee Si described it as the perfect embodiment of the pair's personalities - authentic, subtle, bold.

We fall in love a little bit more with that fine Friday morning. Wispy green aisles, soothing neutral hues, a semi-circular layout, the tender touches of nature. We wanted to allow for space to breathe. Embracing clutter-free styling that filters out the noise, leaving room for our own interpretations, thoughts, and feelings to fill the in-betweens. We wanted to keep it minimal, introducing just enough novelty in the design to gently stimulate the senses. And the outcome - just light, airy, heavenly!

The turnover from ceremony to luncheon.

Aisle foliage repurposed for head table, seating in place, candles lit and ready. With plenty of space to work with, we got creative and arranged for a dynamic seating pattern. Round tables were joined together to form these winding wave clusters that curved across the hall. Giving a less formal, more intimate atmosphere for this laidback luncheon.

Quiet styling

Tablescapes of muted hues, mismatched glassware, and a touch of earth.

We designed the circular escort card with a top fold that allow it to be slightly raised when laid on a surface. The tassels added a finer touch and some weight to the paper. Our intention was for them to double as keepsakes - little personalized bookmarks. We also caught a glimpse of guests slotting them into their shirt pockets, like name cards, guess that works too!

It's all groundwork with this head table styling. A circle of lush overgrown meadows outlines the hem, keeping the tabletop clean and minimal (with plenty of space for food). We opted out florals as a main (无主花), and instead incorporated a beautiful blend of herbaceous plants, dainty wildflowers, fillers and foliage. Just all-natural greenery with a hint of yellow / burnt orange! 🌾 Proof that you don't need big blooming flowers to create something beautiful!
